Lascaux Aquacryl

A color glaze that combines two worlds in artist quality: this paint can be processed as an acrylic paint, but is also as transparent and light as water color. Lascaux Aquacryl is the modern reformulation of classic watercolor. It is suitable for traditional watercolor painting, but also for transparent paint applications on large image formats. Lascaux Aquacryl is delivered in a balanced range of 24 colors, including 8 pure transparent ferrous oxides, offered in convenient dispenser bottles.

Properties

  • highly pigmented
  • non-fading, aging and yellowing
  • highly concentrated and extremely economical
  • transparent and bright
  • easily dissolvable when dry
  • results in a matte surface

Application

  • artistic and decorative fields
  • for various painting techniques
  • ideal for murals, in particular glazes

Processing

Lascaux Aquacryl can be applied with brush, airbrush and other painting tools either directly or diluted; not only on watercolor paper but on virtually any absorbent, rigid and flexible material. Once dry, the paint has a velvety matte quality that sustains its permanence, as well as the depth and intensity of the color. In thin layering work, the paint dries permanantly, such that individual layers can be painted over without reactivating underlying colors. On the other hand, heavier layers of paint can be partially dissolved and even washed out.
